
Kid Friendly Rainbow Pasta
Ingredients:
- 1lb pasta (I used white rice pasta)
- Natural dye (I used red, yellow, orange, green, blue is Ellie’s Best Blue Spirulina and indigo)
- Olive oil or melted butter
Directions:
1. Cook the pasta according to package directions.
(Meanwhile, fill a sandwich sized ziplock with 2 tbsp of water and 1 tsp of dye.)
- Once pasta has finished cooking, run it under cold water to cool. Then divide the pasta evenly between the food dye bags.
- Let pasta sit in the bags in the refrigerator until you achieve the desired hue. I found that the darker the dye, the quicker the pasta achieved the hue I wanted.
*I ended up leaving the yellow and orange in the bags for an hour.*
4. Rinse the pasta and then combine the colors into a large serving bowl. Mix with olive oil and enjoy!
