Creamy Almond & Cacao Protein Smoothie

Ingredients

  • Almond Milk:

    • 2 cups coconut water

    • 1 cup raw almonds

    • Ellies Best Nut Milk Bag to strain
  • Smoothie:

    • 3 small to medium fresh bananas

    • 1 cup chopped fresh pineapple

    • 1 Tbsp homemade raw almond butter

    • 1 Tbsp hemp seeds

    • 2 cups homemade almond milk (from earlier)

    • 1 leaf dinosaur kale (tough stem removed)

    • 1 handful baby spinach

    • 2 Tbsp creamy cacao protein powder

  • Toppings:

    • Black raspberries

    • Cacao nibs

Directions

  1. Make the almond milk: Blend coconut water and almonds until smooth, then strain through a nut milk bag. Save the pulp for other recipes or almond meal.

  2. Prepare the smoothie: Chill ingredients beforehand for a colder smoothie.

  3. Blend bananas, pineapple, almond butter, hemp seeds, almond milk, kale, spinach, and protein powder until smooth.

  4. Pour into a jar and top with black raspberries and cacao nibs. Enjoy!
