Now I realize how easy and affordable it is. Way more affordable than getting a Starbucks iced coffee every day, and way less sugar than a Dunkin cinnamon roll-funfetti-mocha-snicker-doodle iced coffee, or whatever they sell nowadays..
Other than the time you have to wait to let the almonds and coffee ground soak overnight, the almond milk and cold-brew coffee take 5 minutes each to make.
Feel free to alter it to your liking. If you are highly affected by coffee and its caffeine (totally me), then the 6tbsp. gives you a big energy jolt. For others that tried this, it affects them normally, so you might have to experiment a little with it.
I am definitely going to experiment with matcha cold brew, and I definitely recommend organic ground coffee for this recipe. Coffee (as well as peanuts) is one of the most contaminated foods, so definitely look for organic!
- 6 tbsp. coffee grounds
- 1 and 3/4 cup filtered water
- Nut Bag
- Place coffee grounds in a glass jar than can be sealed
- Add water, seal lid, and shake well
- Leave out or in the fridge overnight
- Pour contents of the jar into the nut bag sitting in a medium bowl and let filter through. Squeeze the rest of the bag’s contents with your hands
- That’s it! Add ice to a jar and add cold brew on top. Pour in almond milk or other nut milk and enjoy cold.
